“What is a split screen engagement?”

Since we are a single screen theater, the only way we can show more than one film at one time is by utilizing what is called a “split-screen” engagement.

This means the film studios in question have agreed to let us split our show times [ one early show of Movie A, one late show of Movie B, etc.] for two different movies during what is usually a one-week period.

This is usually only allowed with films that have been out for a month or more and both distributors must agree to sharing the show times.

This is one of the ways the Hiway strives to provide variety for its members and patrons.

Please note: a separate admission is required to attend both films in one day–it is not considered a double feature!
